The Jamkhandi  Urban Co-operative Bank Limited Jamkhandi is a leading Urban Co-operative Bank in Bagalkot District Karnataka, was founded by Sri. Apparao Shinde and other Co-operators during the beginning of the Co-operative movement in our country with prime object of encouraging thrift and savings habit among the public and to free the common man from the clutches of private money lenders.

Initially the bank started as The Jamkhandi State Central Co-operative Bank in the year 1940 and later converted into The Jamkhandi  Urban Co-operative Bank Ltd in the year 1950. The bank began with 150 members, mobilised Share capital of Rs.1500 and also mobilized Deposits of Rs. 5000 from which advanced Rs.3000/- and disbursed dividend at 12% in the inception year. As of now the total business of the bank has crossed Rs. 312 crores as on 31/03/2020, and now it is placed as one amongst the Top Urban Co-operative banks of the State of Karnataka.

Our bank celebrated its Golden Jubilee in the year 1990. The Bank is functioning on the sound principles of co-operation and successfully completed more than 80 years of banking service. The bank is continuously making profit since the date of inception and disbursing dividend to its members and also continued in 'A' Grade Audit classification since its inception. Visionary and transparent directors on the board and dedicated professional staff is responsible for the achievement.
